Putney Embankment Foreshore More by river • Change to overall works method, using larger barges, has resulted in fewer barge movements on the river • Each barge movement equates to approximately 50 HGV’s removed from the local road network • Since October we have had 19 barges arrive at Putney Embankment Foreshore, keeping approximately 950 lorries off the road

  16. Boat Races As we have every year since site establishment at Putney, Tideway lays down its tools to accommodate the boat races that utilise the Boat Race Stone. Those races for 2020 are: • The Men’s Head of the River Race on Saturday 21 March • The University Boat Race on Sunday 29 March
