  1. Community Meeting May 25, 2016

  2. Why We’re Here Tonight  Community concerns about clean air and water  We are working on these issues every day as part of our commitment to responsible manufacturing practices  It’s our responsibility to keep our employees and neighbors safe  We appreciate your questions and the opportunity to share what we are doing 2

  3. What We’ll Talk About  What we make  Safety and the environment  Building relationships  Improved communication with neighbors 3

  4. Who We Are Founded in Portland, Oregon  PCC began in Portland in 1956, making chainsaw teeth  Today we make flight-critical parts that ensure the safety of air travel worldwide, including the NASA space program  Also produce medical devices, such as hip and knee replacements  Nearly 2,800 employees in Portland area 4

  5. Our Metal Alloys  Alloys = mixture of metals, specified by our customers and designed for maximum strength and durability  Primary alloys are nickel/chromium and titanium  Alloys are low-toxicity – Not readily absorbed in the body – Low potential for health risk 5

  6. Our Metal Alloys Our alloy recipes do not include:  Cadmium  Arsenic  Lead  Thorium  Hexavalent chromium – A small amount is generated as a result of a few of our processes – Our controls capture 99% of all chromium dust 6

  7. Extensive Controls To Protect Air Quality  The Large Parts Campus (Johnson Creek Blvd) has 33 separate fabric filtration units to control dust – Called “baghouses” – Best available control technology for metal dust removal 7

  8. New Air Control Upgrades  Newly installed upgrades to air control equipment had been planned for several years ‒ Construction notices filed February 19 ‒ First HEPA filter installed March 24 ‒ Air control upgrades completed on May 1.  Today, virtually all dust flows through one or more filters  These new controls capture +99.9% of particulate 8

  9. Protecting Water Quality  Process wastewaters flow to city sewer for treatment… not Johnson Creek  PCC is improving and expanding the filter system to clean stormwater that flows off-site into the storm sewer and Johnson Creek.  Filters are designed to remove PCBs, organics, metals and total dissolved solids 9

  10. Third-Party Verification Of New Controls  Hired independent testing company, TRC Solutions, to verify new air control equipment working as designed  DEQ reviewing test plan submitted on May 20  Neighborhood representatives and DEQ to be invited to witness testing in late June  Test results will be shared on our website, pccstructuralscommunity.com, in August 10

  11. Building Relationships  Our next community meeting will be in September at a local school  Information, updates posted on pccstructuralscommunity.com  Email us: community@pccstructurals.com 11
