The Project
- We are replacing the slipway’s at Colintraive and Rhubodach
- The project will deliver new double width and longer slipway’s
– Access at all states of tide – Future maintenance will be carried out during the day
- The project will also provide a new vehicle queuing area
– Capacity provided for 2 boat loads of cars and HGV’s
- The ferry service will continue to operate throughout this project

Marine Scotland - Pre-application
- Marine Scotland
– Is a Scottish Government body – Its purpose is to manage Scotland's seas for sustainable development
- Pre-application required under Marine (Scotland Act) 2010
- To inform Statutory Consultees:
– Northern Lighthouse Board, Maritime and Coastguard Agency, Scottish Environmental Protection Agency, Scottish Natural Heritage
- Hold a meeting locally (this evening’s meeting)
– Provides an opportunity to present this scheme and hold a Q&A session – This is also an opportunity to submit written comments via email or by post up to 7 days after the meeting (Deadline is 10th November 2014) – Details are on the posters in the Hall and Hotel Notice boards

Marine Scotland - Application Process
- Consenting / licencing process takes approximately 12 Weeks
and includes:
– Planning Permission from Argyll and Bute Council – Marine Construction Licence from Marine Scotland
- During the Application process there will be:
– A notice in the local newspapers advertising the project drawings (Dunoon Observer & the Buteman) – Drawings will then be lodged in Colintraive village Hall for 28 days to allow viewings and any further written comments to be sent in

- Slipways at end of Serviceable Life:
- Settled significantly
- Surfacing is continually breaking up
- Reconstruct slipways to safeguard ferry
service
- The ferry service will continue to operate
throughout this project
- A number of restrictions will be placed on
the contractor including:
- Construction sequence
- Working hours
- Traffic management
