Introduction
Planning Approach
Themes
Project Team Goals
Create a vibrant Chester waterfront that will be a destination for visitors, employees, residents, and businesses.
Revitalize the Route 291 corridor and other access points to the
Chester waterfront. Identify reuse options for underutilized parcels and in order to preserve the history of the site. Identify and support sustainable economic uses on the waterfront. Link the waterfront to the adjacent residential communities and other parts of the waterfront through landscaping and infrastructure. Make the waterfront a beautiful place that attracts people year-round. Identify short, (1 to 2 years) mid-range (2 to 5 years) and long term (5+ years) projects that create a safe, welcoming waterfront.
