  2. When is it and what’s included? June 6-7, 2019 ● Depart CMS at 7 AM on June 6 ● Return to CMS 10 PM June 7 ● What’s Included? -1 breakfast, 2 lunches, & 2 dinners - Museum entry fees and cost for T-shirts -Security guards on watch from 10 PM- 5AM - “On Tour Mobile App”

  5. Pictures from previous 8th grade trips to D.C. We have Picture Practice the day before we leave!!

  6. Itinerary Day 1 Day 1 June 6, 2019 7AM Leave CMS breakfast will be provided 11:30 AM Arrive in D.C. Meet tour guides. Go to the Smithsonian Institution & Museum of American History (lunch ticket included). 1:30 PM Visit Holocaust Memorial Museum 5 PM Opportunity to shop and eat dinner at the Pentagon City Mall (meal ticket included) 7 PM Visit Lincoln, Vietnam Veterans, Korean Memorials. 9 PM Check into hotel

Itinerary Day 2 Day 2 June 7, 2019 7 AM Breakfast and check out of hotel 8:30 AM Visit the Arlington National Cemetery including JFK’s Grave & Tomb of the Unknown Soldier 11:30 AM Lunch at Union Station (lunch ticket included) 1:10 PM Tour of Capitol Hill (including the U.S Capitol Building, U.S Supreme Court, and the Library of Congress) 4:30 Depart for CMS- dinner en route. 9 PM Approx. arrival at CMS

WHat to bring on the trip Chargers ● Cellphones ● Toiletries in appropriate bottle to avoid leaks (The hotel supplies soap ● and conditioner) Comfortable walking shoes ● Appropriate clothing (per the school dress code) ● T-shirts will be provided ● Pillows and blankets are NOT allowed on the trip ●

  9. What to Bring on the Trip cont. Trip is rain or shine & we walk everywhere. STUDENTS CAN NOT ● STAY ON THE BUS!! Check the weather and pack extra clothing/shoes if needed and ○ an umbrella. Bring money for souvenirs, we stop at a mall and a souvenir shop along ● the way. Overnight bags will be dropped off at the school Wednesday morning ● (June 5). NO BAGS WILL BE ALLOWED ON TRIP IF BROUGHT THURSDAY TO SCHOOL (including food bags)!! Bags will be inspected before we depart. ○

  10. T-Shirts 2 T-shirts will be given to students the Wednesday (June 5) before dismissal. They must wear it to school. Students will get second shirt when checking into hotel. NO ALTERATIONS are to be made to the t-shirt (i.e no cutting of the sleeves, crop top, etc.)

  11. CEll phones and other technology It is expected that the cell phones are to be used appropriately ● throughout the duration of the trip. We are not responsible for and lost/damaged/stolen phones & we will ● not turn around for forgotten phones. Students are NOT to bring Xbox, PS4, laptops, or any other device on ● the trip. **Bus will have WiFi and charging ports- but students should still bring charger on the trip!**

  12. Side notes Students will conduct themselves in a respectful and mature ● manner. We visit many sites that pay respects to people/veterans that ● have lost their lives. Any inappropriate behaviors could result in disciplinary actions.
