Earth Science Honors Option

Earth Science Honors is offered to 8th grade students as an additional elective science course. Earth Science Honors is a high school credit course that most students take as 9th graders. It fulfills one of three required science disciplines for an Advanced Studies diploma. It is not a required high school course but is necessary for students who want to take AP Environmental Science in High School. Students take Physical Science 8 as a block class (92 minutes every day) in the fall semester and Earth Science as a block course in the spring semester. There is an end-of-course SOL test for each of these courses.
