Cell Phone Policy

■ Students will be allowed to carry cell phones on them during the trip. ■ Cell phones must be turned off during the entire trip except in the event of an emergency when students will be instructed to turn their phones on. Parents will be provided with instructions

  • n how they can get in touch with their student on the trip in

the event of a family emergency. ■ Cell phones may not be used as cameras or time-telling devices,

■ Students will turn on their phones to call their parents once

they are check-in at their hotel room and when their bus is 30 minutes away from WAMS.

Cell Phone Policy

■ When rooms are checked at the end of the first night, all cell phones will be turned off, labeled with each student’s name, and collected by a staff member. ■ Students will be instructed on how to handle an emergency in their room after cell phones have been

  • collected. Parents should be aware that WAMS hires

security guards for each floor. The security guards monitor the hallways of students’ rooms throughout the

  • night. Chaperones’/administrators’/nurses’ rooms are

clearly marked on the outside of their doors

Cell Phone Policy

■ Cell phones will be housed overnight with an administrator. ■ Students’ cell phones will be returned in the morning when they are signed out of their room. ■ Their phone will remain on their person and off throughout Day 2 of the trip. ■ Once a student’s bus is within 30 minutes from WAMS, the staff will ask students to turn on their phones to call their parents to arrange for pick-up. ■ Any student who does not comply with these rules will have their phone confiscated until an investigation can be completed. Some incidents may require that cell phones may be held over the weekend as deemed necessary by administration. Students in violation of this policy will receive consequences in line with the code of conduct.

Souvenir Money

■ Students may want to bring money to buy

souvenirs, snacks, etc. A suggested amount is $40.00-60.00.

■ The only money the students will need for

food will be to buy dinner at the rest stop on the way home. Your child should save $15.00-$20.00 for this meal.

removal from the trip)
