About
Jamey Whetstone
1996
Born in Florence, South Carolina, Jamey moved to Napa in 1996 to manage Mustards Grill where he planned to gain restaurant experience before heading back to the Carolinas to open a restaurant of his own
1998
He was bitten by the wine bug and began his winemaking education at Turley Wine Cellars in 1998 and worked one summer for the Seysses family, at Domaine Dujac in Morey St Denis, which cemented his love for Pinot Noir
2002
Whetstone was founded while Jamey continued to apprentice at Turley
2005
Jamey left Turley to focus his full efforts on growing Whetstone

The Estate
- The Whetstones began restoration on the building that is
now Whetstone Estate in February of 2011
- Doors opened to visitors in July of 2013
- A 19th century French-style chateau houses the tasting
salon and sits on two acres located at the base of Atlas Peak Road in Napa
- The beautifully landscaped grounds and historic Napa
Valley building serve as the perfect backdrop for tastings and events

SRP: $40 LIST: $80 BTG: $20 Alcohol 14.8% Harvested August 20 & 21; September 5 & 7 Production 1100 cases Vineyard Notes The 2015 vintages is from a collection of vineyards throughout the Sonoma Coast appellation. Below average yields are a hallmark of the growing season that make for concentrated fruit and bright acidity. Tasting Notes Stainless steel fermented, 100% French oak-aged in 20% new oak barrels. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, this wine is ruby in color with a complex nose of raspberry, blackberry pie, and
- range peel. Bold flavors of dark cherry with hints of sassafras are
highlighted with background notes of rose petal and Asian spice. Secondary flavors of pekoe tea and plum with supple tannins, develop a long, bright finish.
