“Their Final Destiny”
- The wicked are living on a "slippery slope."
Truly, you put them on a slippery path and send them sliding
- ver the cliff to destruction…Those who are far from you will
perish; you destroy all who are unfaithful to you. (v.18 & 27, NIV)
- The wicked are living in "fantasyland."
They are like a dream when one awakes; when you arise, Lord, you will despise them as fantasies…The Lord laughs at the wicked, for he knows their day is coming. (v. 20 & 37:13, NIV)
Refocused!
Asaph's near-sightedness is gone! He now clearly sees that…
- God's people remain in the grip of his grace!
But as for me, my feet had almost slipped; I had nearly lost my foothold… When my heart was grieved and my spirit embittered, I was senseless and ignorant; I was a brute beast before you. Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel… (v.2 & 21-24, NIV)

- Life is unfair—only temporarily!
…and afterwards you will take me to glory. (v. 24, NIV) But as for me, my feet had almost slipped; I had nearly lost my foothold… When my heart was grieved and my spirit embittered, I was senseless and ignorant; I was a brute beast before you.
