Post 16 progression Higher Education University talks including Mansfield College Oxford Higher Education sessions run by York Uni /York St John at the “Exploring Pathways” event
Post 16 progression Apprenticeship assembly from local businesses Guest speakers in school Careers fair in school for Yr 11 Students and parents informed of all Open Evenings and Open days across the city Careers fairs and employment opportunities advertised to students and parents
Employability skills CV/application form writing Sessions on Interview skills Mock interview with an external employer Volunteer opportunities through the school council and new Millthorpe Award Two weeks work experience for all

How it works Student to use NYBEP work experience website / own research to find a placement Student to contact employer to request a work experience placement, if successful then also arrange an interview Work Experience Agreement Form – must be signed by student, parent and employer Agreement Form must be fully signed and handed back to school by Friday 6th January ‘ Nope, I don't know anything about your company or the placement, my teacher just sent me here’ – Think, plan & prepare yourself!!!
