Task 1 about when you start work

  • Work in a group of 2 or 3. Rank in order the

things you think will be easiest and hardest to do. 1 is easiest and 10 is hardest. Coping with health and safety, working with people you have not met before, travel to work, working as part of a team, good time keeping, dealing with the public, being reliable, making mistakes, wearing suitable clothes and handling money/business issues.

Own Placements deadline is Friday 17th May 2019.

Own placements:

  • family business.
  • some jobs are very popular.
  • you know your career path.
  • you want to be in control.
  • you want to save being

disappointed at the last minute.

  • if you change your mind your

parents will be asked to pay a fee.

Own Placements Task 2.

  • Discuss your ideas for an ‘own

placement’ in a group of 2 or 3.

  • If you have your own placement form

with you fill out your section now and ask your tutor to fill in their section during tutor time today. Check the form with your tutor.

  • Take your form to Mrs Rickson as

soon as possible.

planner or calendar.

  • April 2019 Letters, booklet and ‘own placement forms’

sent home.

  • May 10th Assembly.
  • Return own placement forms before the half term
  • holidays. The deadline is Friday 17th May.
  • May/June 2019 – U-Explore/Journey to Work.
  • May 2019 – tutor time about careers.
  • June 5th 2019 – Parents Evening and online system goes

  • placements. You get two selections. Think about what you

want and where you live in relation to the placement. Reselection if needed. Do not delay.

  • June 7th Assembly – Database system.

  • November / December 2019. Visits and

interviews at placements. Further assemblies.

  • Monday January 13th 2020 Work Experience

starts.

  • From January 16th 2020 visits by teachers/other
