Two Related Arts classes per semester 7th/8th grade students get to choose Related Arts 40-45 minute classes Semester long for 7th/8th – Quarter long for 6th Band/Honors Chorus will be year long Students must take a semester of Physical Education every year

Students can be in band and participate in
(Sports, cheer, dance, scouts, lessons, etc.). Nearly 75% of band students participate in
YOU CAN ONLY JOIN BAND IN 6TH GRADE
The music and curriculum is more challenging each year. If a student were to join in 7th grade they would be a year behind their classmates.
How do you enroll in band class?
A “google form” will be sent via email. Otherwise, please contact Mr. Sanders. You DO NOT need previous music or instrument experience to be in 6th grade band! We teach the basics!
Expenses:
1) $30 band fee: book, t-shirt, & music. 2) Instrument purchase or rental: we assist with finding instruments!
6th Grade after-school commitments
3-4 after school rehearsals all year Remember: Transportation conflicts, expenses, and fees will not keep your student from being in band! We make arrangements to meet your needs.

Instructional Fee - $30.00 Locker Lock Fee - $5.00 PE Uniform - $15.00 All students are required to have PE uniform. Students may use any FMSD PE uniform.
Will I have class with 7th or 8th graders? Do I get my own locker? How long do I have between classes? How long is lunch? Is there a dress code? Can we have our cellphones at school?
