  5. PROGRESSION PATH AFTER GCE O-LEVELS

  6. Joint Admission Exercise ● One exercise to be conducted upon release of GCE O-Level results ● Admission exercise is for admission to JC, MI, Polytechnic & ITE

  7. Points to Note 1.Fill up all 12 options available to you 2.Choose JCs/Poly courses which meet your results 3.Appeals will only be entertained if you meet the JC’s/Poly’s course cut off point 4.Have 1 or 2 options where your results exceed course cut off point.

Alternative Admission Process For JC1 and Equivalent Level ● Direct School Admission (DSA–JC) ● For students who demonstrate a more diverse range of achievements and talents in seeking admission at Pre-U level. ● Conducted prior to the annual Joint Admission Exercise (JAE). Students admitted under DSA–JC need not take part in the JAE as long as they meet the criteria for admission for a JC

Entry Requirements to JC a) at least a D7 for Mother Tongue (MT) [or a pass in CLB/MLB/TLB] AND a Mathematics Subject b) L1R5 ≤ 20 points • L1 - English • R1 - A Science or Math Subject • R2 - A Humanities Subject • R3 - A Science or Math or Humanities Subject • R4 & R5 - Any other 2 Best Subjects • (CCA grades cannot be counted as a subject) c) Failed to obatain the requisite language and/or Math grades but with L1R5 ≤ 15, student will be provisionally admitted but he will need to re-sit and must clear the relevant subjects in the following year’s GCE O-Level exams.
