- Attention
– Be fully prepared with all approp materials – Play a critical role in creating a positive learning environment‐ respect and support the rights of all to learn – Be fully participative‐ collaborate constructively with peers and ask relevant questions

- Attitude
– Organize learning materials neatly in subject files – Build positive learning habits
Build Positive Learning Habits
Before a lesson:
- Be prepared. Look through the chapter to be covered
and get a rough idea of the important concepts.
- Highlight the terms that are unfamiliar. Clarify them in
class. During a lesson:
- Listen attentively and Take notes. Taking notes forces
- ne to listen carefully and allows for retention of
information better. Helps in review and revision too!
- Clarify doubts‐ any terms or concepts or questions
Build Positive Learning Habits After a lesson:
- Review‐ Revise by the end of the day, Revise
again at the end of the week and again at the end of the month. Helps to store the info in the longer term memory.
- Clean up notes and add in the details.
- File notes for easy retrieval later.
The Curve of Forgetting
Starting Time of School
- Music cue at 7.15am: A signal for all to stop all
activities, take a book and move to the assembly area. Start silent reading.
- School Bell at 7.30am: Flag‐raising. Students
not in queue by 2nd bell will be regarded as late.
52
Handphone and Electronic Gadgets
- The school do not encourage the bringing of
mobile phone or electronic gadgets that disrupt learning in school.
- If students choose to bring them, they must
abide by the following:
– They take full responsibility for their security – They use them only in the canteen and only during stipulated timings‐ before school, during recess, and after school. – Infringement will lead to confiscation of item.
Handphone and Electronic Gadgets
- Students will be warned to keep away their
handphone/gadget
- If they persist, they will have their
handphone/gadget confiscated
- Confiscation for the first offence will be one
- day. But they must bring home a letter of
warning which is to be duly signed by their parents, and returned the following day. If this is not done, they will not be allowed to use their handphone.
Handphone and Electronic Gadgets
- The second offence of use of handphone in class
is a confiscation of one week, afterwhich, parents are expected to come to the school to collect the phone on behalf of their children.
- The third offence will merit a one month
confiscation.
- Any further offence and the child would have
lost his privilege of bringing a handphone to school
56
Attendance Taking
- If student is not in school or late for school, a
notification via snaapp or an sms will be sent to inform the parent/guardian of the absence
- r late‐coming. If you child misses CCA, you
will also receive similar messages.
- This is the school’s effort to work closely with
parents to ensure that problems, if any, are nipped in the bud.
