Why Inclusive Financing?

  • An energy efficient home lowers bills

and helps the environment

  • Most people won’t prioritize

efficiency on their own

  • Inclusive Financing removes barriers -

no loan, no FICO, no lien, and no debt associated with this transaction

  • Energy efficiency should be looked at

as part of the energy portfolio

  • Board members currently evaluating

business case for Inclusive Financing

  • Members should tell EMC they want

and need inclusive financing

SLIDE 7

How Inclusive Financing Works

  • Energy saving upgrades installed in your home or building, Member pays

nothing upfront.

  • The Co-op pays for the installed energy solution using a vetted coop

partner energy contractor(s).

  • To recover its costs, the Co-op puts a fixed charge on Member’s electric bill

that is less than the estimated energy savings from upgrades.

  • Member needs no loan, no FICO score check, no lien, and no debt

associated with this transaction; just lower energy bills and a more comfortable home.

  • When the utility recovers its costs, fixed charge ends.
  • If you leave move, fixed charge stays with the meter
