Overall Status

Updated the GArSoft’s parametrization module, cafanatree_module – please feel free to clone from github and start putting together your analysis scripts based on what the output ntuple looks like: https://github.com/tmohayai/ParamSim Parametrizations currently in place: Momentum smearing using Gluckstern formula Angular smearing also using Gluckstern Reasonable tracklength threshold cut – tracklength > 5 cm for all particles PID parametrization from Tom J. There is a module from R. Hatcher for converting ND software integrate GENIE ghep fjles to art for GArSoft end-to-end simulation for CDR – currently being investigated by A. Furmanski Short-term to do for cafanatree_module: working on a mcp skimmer to speed up running of the module Production work being done in parallel: First set of GENIE MPD+rock overlay’ed samples ready for end-to-end GArSoft simulation Andy F. has a grid submission script for end-to-end GArSoft simulation

Momentum Resolution

Used range to smear momentum for tracks that stop in the TPC For those that have long enough tracks to leave the TPC, Gluckstern is used Momentum resolution improved by 90%!

Angular Resolution

Used Gluckstern formula to smear the angle – angular resolution is not that great but maybe not very important?

Rock n-interaction Vertices

Rock interaction vertices – fjrst step to generating the rock samples for

  • verlay with MPD (and other sub-detectors)

As expected, the vertices carve out the rock surrounding the detector hall

detector hall along with its fmux windows Note: geometry used for detector hall has no sub-detectors in the hall

Rock n-interaction Vertices

3D illustration of rock vertices – as expected, there are no neutrino interaction vertices inside the detector hall (geometry used for rock generation has no sub-detector components in the hall)

Primary Particles from n-rock Interactions

Stable fjnal state ms (as an example) produced from n-rock interactions getting propagated in rock volume using GEANT4 – this slide shows where they start from: As expected, they start at the vertex

Primary Particles from n-rock Interactions

Stable fjnal state ms (as an example) produced from n-rock interactions getting propagated in rock volume using GEANT4 – this slide shows only those ms that make it to the detector hall but (to my surprise), the original vertex position is the one that is kept and is written to a ghep fjle

n-interactions Vertices in MPD

Top volume MPD used for generating the sample: consists of the TPC, ECAL, & Magnet This will be overlayed with rock samples – preliminary look at the vertices indicates that a notable number of neutrinos interact in the ECAL & magnet

Summary & Next Steps

cafanatree module, a stand-alone art-free module, is in place and ready for use (unless concerns are raised during this talk) Eldwan and I welcome (hopefully quick) feedback about what analyzers believe still needs to get added Andy F. has prepared the machinery for submitting jobs for end-to-end simulation – once MPD and rock vertices are overlay’ed (on my to-do-list for today), we can proceed with GArSoft production Happy Analyzing!
