What is a Title I School? • provide students with extra instructional support beyond the regular classroom to help low-achieving children meet state standards in core academic subjects. • coordinate and integrate resources and services from federal, state, and local sources • To be considered for title 1 school funds, at least 40% of the students must be considered low- income.

  9. Title I Funds Spent? Camp Creek Middle School Funds: • CCMS is a Title I school because we receive funds from the federal government to provide additional resources to assist with the education of our children. We qualify for these additional funds because a large percentage of our students receive free or reduced meals at our school.

  10. How are Title I Funds Spent? Camp Creek Middle School Funds: Title 1 Part A – Academic Achievement Allocation:? (540 F/R lunch students * (State Pupil Allocation) • 3.5 Teachers Budget: Expenditures aligned to Needs • 1 Data Support Specialist Assessment • 1 Parent Liaison = Personnel: $ 335,664 • Supplies, Computers, Resources , Parent Involvement • Learning Software (PLATO) • = Supplies: $37, 000 • These additional resources allow us to provide enhanced instructional programs for all students and the opportunity for our parents to be involved in their children’s education. • To continue receiving these funds, there are guidelines we must follow to comply with requirements mandated by the U.S. Department of Education.

  11. How does our school participate in the Title I Program? • The goal of CCMS Title I Program is to ensure every child is able to learn and perform at levels that meet or exceed the state academic standards. • The Title I federal funds we receive help to achieve this goal.

  12. Schoolwide Title I Program • The primary goal is to ensure that all students, particularly those who are low-achieving, demonstrate proficient and advanced levels of achievement on State academic achievement standards. • CCMS Supports the schoolwide program by providing additional math and reading teachers. • After 4 Squad is designed to provide quality academic assistance for students in math and reading .

  13. What Curriculum Does our School Use? • Georgia Standards of Excellence in English Language Arts and Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science

  14. What Tests Will my Child be Taking? • Each summer, school faculty members meet to review and discuss school data to help inform the School Improvement Plan. This data includes but is not limited to the following: • 2017 – 2018 Georgia Milestone results • District Benchmark Assessments • Student will attend After 4 Squad or individual classroom tutorial will be provided. This will help the student with passing the school assessments such as the ITBS (8th Grade only), WriteScore Test (7 th Grade), PSAT (7 th & 8 th Grade); GA Milestones (6 th , 7 th , & 8 th Grades) and classroom assessments. • Once reviewed, a detailed decision is reached regarding the needs of our school.

Home Access Center (Located in Parent Resource Center and available on school website)

What is Required by Law for Parent and Family Engagement? • Every Title I school must have a written parent involvement policy and school- family compact that is jointly developed with and approved by parents. It should spell out how parents will be involved in the education process in a meaningful way.

District Parent and Family Engagement Plan • In support of strengthening student academic achievement, The FCS school district receives Title I, Part A funds and therefore In support of strengthening student academic achievement, Fulton County School receives Title I, Part A funds and therefore must jointly develop with, agree on with, and distribute to parents of participating children a written parental involvement policy that contains information required by section 1118 (b)(1) of the Elementary and Secondary Act of 1965 (ESEA). The policy establishes the school’s expectations for parental involvement activities, and it is incorporated into the school’s plan submitted to the local educational agency (LEA

  18. CCMS PARENT AND FAMILY ENGAGEMENT PLAN • Camp Creek Parent Involvement Plan describes how we will provide opportunities to improve parent engagement to support student learning. Camp Creek Middle School is committed to the goal of increasing the number of parents involved in influencing the success of all students through academic support, school activities and programs. This plan describes the different ways that Camp Creek will support parent engagement and how parents can help plan and participate in activities and events to promote student learning at school and at home.. Camp Creek Middle School values the contributions and involvement of parents to establish an equal partnership for the common goal of improving student achievement.

  19. Title I School-Family Compact • One way we support student achievement is through a Title I School-Family Compact. • Camp Creek Middle School, students participating in the Title I, Part A program, and their families, agree that this compact outlines how the parents, the entire school staff, and the students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement as well as describes how school and parents will build and develop a partnership that will help children achieve the State’s high standards. Our annual school parent compact is a written agreement between the teachers, parents, and students. It offers ways that we can work together to help our students succeed.   20. School-Family Compact ( Con’t ) • JOINTLY DEVELOPED: • The parents, students, and staff of Camp Creek Middle School jointly developed this school-parent compact for achievement. Teachers suggested home learning strategies, parents added input about the types of support they needed, and students told us what would help them learn. All parents are encouraged to attend annual revision meetings held in August and May each year parents are welcome to provide feedback on the compact at any time during the school year. All feedback will be collected and reviewed during the annual revision meeting which are held in August and May each year to r review the compact and make suggestions based on student needs and school improvement goals.
