Purpose and need

  • Deteriorating concrete pavement
  • Deteriorating curb and gutter
  • Existing curb ramps do not meet current ADA (Americans

with Disabilities Act) standards

  • Storm Sewer inlets and apron end walls are in poor

condition

WIS 21 proposed improvements

  • Roadway improvements recommended to keep WIS 21

traffic moving safely and efficiently

  • Replace sections of severely deteriorated concrete pavement

and curb and gutter

  • Mill the concrete pavement surface and overlay with asphalt
  • New pavement marking (existing lane configuration to remain)
  • Installation of centerline rumble strips west of 4th Avenue
  • Bridge over I-39 and approaches constructed in 2014 are not

included in this project
