Need for Project

  • Roadway surface on WIS 118 is deteriorating.
  • Some sections of the WIS 118 pavement have settled.
  • Several culvert pipes need maintenance.

Proposed Improvements

  • Deep mill and overlay WIS 118.
  • Conduct additional underlying pavement repairs in settled areas after

milling.

  • Replacing one culvert and rehabilitating several other culverts.
  • Paving side road approaches.
  • Refreshing gravel shoulders and emergency turnouts.

Property Impacts

  • Project expected to be constructed within existing right of way.
  • No real estate is anticipated to be acquired.
  • Temporary driveway closures will be necessary during parts of the

construction process.

  • Will coordinate with property owners during these periods.

Traffic Management During Construction

  • Construction currently is scheduled for summer of 2021.
  • WIS 118 will be closed to through traffic and detoured.
  • WIS 118 will be open to local traffic.
  • Motorists can expect to encounter lane closures and flagging operations.
  • WIS 118 may be closed in both directions for culvert construction.
  • These closures are anticipated to last 2-3 days each.
