The 1920s was a time when the middle class could buy products that only the high class could afford. With more products that made chores easier people had more free time. Consumer economy: economy that relies heavily on how much people are buying and spending.

The Age of Excess was a time when people had more disposable income and thanks to new forms of financing families could spend more money on consumer goods which allowed its consumer economy to grow and prosper.

Jazz Age Volstead Act

With the Volstead act which banned the production and sale of alcohol many people went to the speakeasies which featured Jazz artist playing music while they drank.People of that time were looking for more forms of entertainment. A common club known as the Harlem’s Cotton Club which flapper girls came in large groups and black and white people also attened the club. During the 1920s jazz became a really popular form of music. With the advances of technology like the radio people can listen to music without going to a club they can also purchase music instead of going to night clubs.
