Depending on their preference, TDLR will offer several options to military spouses relocating to Texas:
Option 1: Apply f tion 1: Apply for a r a 3- 3-Year Lice License Under this option, a qualified military spouse will receive a non-renewable 3-year license to work in Texas, based on their license credentials in another state. No application No application fee, no e, no examination. amination.

thorization ion This method will allow military spouses to receive a non- renewable 3-year authorization letter to work in Texas, based on their out-of-state license. If you currently hold an occupational license in another state, we’ll help you transfer your license to Texas. We have licensing reciprocity agreements with other states for Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Auctioneers, Barbering, Cosmetology, Electricians, and Massage Therapy.

Texas Military Summit
The TDLR V TDLR Veterans Asso rans Associati ation n honors and helps those who served our country in the United States Armed Forces and now serve Texas as employees of TDLR. The Association is a volunteer fraternal organization - unique in state government - providing friendship and support to veterans and their families, and helping new employees recently discharged make the transition back into civilian life. Association members work closely with TDLR staff to help veterans who are licensees, and improve processes for veterans seeking to become licensed in Texas. Members also act as liaisons with other veterans’ organizations to keep TDLR veterans informed about issues affecting Texas.
