  2. Why is Data important  Data is a powerful tool used for improving student learning, guiding professional development and measuring progress.  Effective use of data ensures appropriate accountability, guide resource allocation, and ensure every child learns.

  3. The Way Data is Used  The new Every Student Succeed Acts (ESSA) requirements examine school-level reporting of data on student progress, resource allocation, and spending. These data measures form the basis for goals and related actions to remediate within-district inequities across school sites.  School Plans for Student Achievement (SPSA) are aligned to the District’s Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) and use school-level data to report on progress. This information is used to examine District-wide practices, with the vision of improving transparency and teaching and learning conditions.

The California Dashboard  Designed to help parents and educators visually identify strengths and areas for improvement  Performance is based on:  Academic year’s results  The improvement of results from the prior year  State measures include Chronic Absenteeism, graduation rate, and academic.

Temple City Unified School District LCAP Goals Goal 1 - Conditions of Learning Temple City Unified School District will maintain and improve conditions of learning. ◦ To this end, the district will hire, train, and retain the best, most highly effective, fully credentialed and appropriately assigned teachers and staff. ◦ It will also work to ensure an effective and engaging learning environment by providing students access to the most updated equipment and facilities. The district will also work toward providing students and staff members access to the best tools and resources including standards-aligned instructional materials. (Aligned to State Priorities 1, 2, and 7)

Temple City Unified School District LCAP Goals Goal 2 - Pupil Achievement Temple City Unified School District will increase pupil achievement levels, paying mindful attention to students who may need additional supports or scaffolds for academic success, will maintain its status and change levels on the CA School Dashboard, and will help students thrive in safe environments and feel a sense of connection to school. (Aligned to State Priorities 4, 6, and 8)

Temple City Unified School District LCAP Goals Goal 3 - Parent Involvement, Student Engagement, and School Climate The district has a continuing need to provide all students opportunities to build school connectedness. The district will engage and empower parents/guardians to be active participants in their child's school experience, will provide student support systems to help every student meet graduation requirements and be prepared for college, career, and life, and will provide all students and staff with support programs and systems that focus on character and social/emotional supports. (Aligned to State Priorities 3, 5, and 6)
