NOTICES The Presentation of Christ Also known as Candlemas, today we are celebrating the day when Mary and Joseph presented the baby Jesus in the temple and the completion of Mary’s ritual purification following childbirth. We also celebrate Simeon and Anna, and their recognition

  • f Jesus as light of the world. Today’s 10:30 service

is an All-Age service – thanks to Lotte and Youth Amnesty for their contributions to it! Service of Remembrance Tonight at 6pm, we will be having a service of remembrance for people who have died. Everyone is very welcome to come along. The service will include hymns, prayers, and an opportunity to light candles for loved ones. Crime Prevention advice On Wednesday 8th February, PC Anna-Marie Game from the Muswell Hill Safer Neighbourhood Team will be coming with a couple of colleagues to Meeting Point to speak about crime prevention for a short time at 12 noon. Her talk will be aimed at all

  • f us, but her particular concern is to advise older
  • people. Do come prepared with any questions you

may have on the topic! Please note the revised date of Wednesday 8th February. Going Places On Saturday 8th July, Going Places will be going continental with a day trip to Paris. We'll be up with the lark to catch the Eurostar to Paris at around 6am and spend the day soaking up the atmosphere, returning in the evening. If you are interested in going, please contact Michael Baker

  • n amichaelbaker@btinternet.com or 07894

Everyone welcome; non-HHS members are requested to make a £2 donation. Winter Night Shelter Thank you to everyone who has helped thus far with the Winter Night Shelter. We are starting this Tuesday, 7th, for five weeks at The Gospel Centre, Wightman Road. Volunteers still very welcome! If you’d prefer to be more on the organization side and have experience in fundraising or events management, then we also have space for you! However, if you can’t volunteer your time, why not help with donations? We need long warm men’s coats for about chest sizes 38-40 for some of the

  • guests. Speak to Lorraine

(lesleyf@blueyonder.co.uk) if you can help with any

  • f these.

Easy job to help the Winter Night Shelter: buy a tube of Smarties for 50p each, then once you’ve eaten your Smarties, fill the tube with 20p pieces and/or £1 coins and return it to Lorraine to donate the money to the Winter Night Shelter. New Mission Action Plan Our new Mission Action Plan was published recently & copies are available at the back of the

  • church. This is very much the fruit of our

discussions from the Away Days in 2015 & 2016, and we hope you really enjoy reading it. Please use it to pray for the life of our church & how we might truly reach our destination of gospel growth. Gardening at the Tower Do you want the chance to contribute to making Hornsey Churchyard beautiful? Join in the Friends’ gardening team which meets twice a month, on the first Saturday and the third Thursday. The next sessions are Saturday 4th February and Thursday 16th February, both from 10.30am-1pm. Please see the insert for more notices.
