STVL Goals

  • The goal of STVL is to facilitate collaborative

research in symmetric techniques

– practical algorithm design and analysis – algorithm implementation and deployment – theoretical foundations

STVL Participation

  • STVL receives contributions from 18 partners

– 56% of all ECRYPT partners – 80% of all ECRYPT industrial partners

  • This helps to give STVL a strong practical focus

Closing

  • Many thanks to anyone contributing to STVL

– Not only has there been significant research … … but there have been lasting practical advances

  • Much of STVL has a life beyond ECRYPT

– eSTREAM (maintenance and portfolio review) – Hash function design and analysis – And most importantly: continued research and collaboration
