Performance Index System

  • Each measure contributes points to

an index score – Total of 4 Indexes

slide-7
SLIDE 7

Index Explanations

  • Index 1 - Student Achievement: Student performance based on

satisfactory student achievement across all subjects for all students

  • Index 2 - Student Progress: Designed to measure student

growth on the STAAR test from the prior year to this year.

  • Index 3 - Closing Performance Gaps: Purpose is to emphasize

the advanced academic achievement of economically disadvantaged students and the two lowest performing race/ethnicity students groups

  • Index 4 - Postsecondary Readiness: Purpose is to emphasize

the importance for students to receive a high school diploma that provides the foundation necessary for success in college, the workforce, job training programs, or the military; and the role of the elementary and middle schools in preparing students for high school.
