| Successful Implementation Reviews thus far...
“Our daughter had a wonderful experience with her transition. She felt very welcome and supported right away.” “So many other parents warned about putting 6th graders in a middle school environment. They had me worried it was premature and my student would get left behind. But at Deer Creek, it was a wonderful transition. The orientation day was invaluable, and the sixth graders are largely kept apart from the other two grades, yet they still share the school and get accustomed to it.” "We've had a great sixth grade year and have seen so many positive changes in our daughter. We appreciate the multiple opportunities for extra help and the ability to redo work that wasn't
- mastered. It is clear that you are truly focused on the success of all students. Thank you for all that
you do."

“I think the message needs to be that we are being thoughtful—that we have gathered feedback from multiple Jeffco neighborhoods, from our families, from families currently in our typical feeder elementary schools, from our students and from our staff—to make decisions that honor what our community needs us to be. . . Finally, I think it’s important to share that we believe in the work. We are excited to welcome the energy of sixth graders and to build a school family that lasts for three years instead of just two. Yes, the work has been hard, but we are having a ball!”
- Jeena Williams, principal, The Manning School
“Our middle school has had sixth-graders for many years. They come into the building excited, and they enjoy the variety of teachers as well as electives.”
- Becky Brown, principal, West Jefferson Middle School
“We are so excited!!”
- Brenda Fletcher, principal, Moore Middle School
