IP 1: HIGH CAPACITY TRAINS  STAKE AT EU LEVEL: Doors and PRM Maintain a competitive European Solutions rolling stock supply industry in the worldwide market by developing the future generation Traction Brake of trains. ADVANCED  TRAFFIC CHALLENGE: MANAGEMENT Develop a new generation of AND CONTROL signalling and control SYSTEMS systems, building on current ERTMS, to enable intelligent traffic management with Dependable Smart automatically driven trains Safe Procurement Signalling and optimise capacity, & Testing System reliability and minimise Life Cycle Costs. 6

CAPACITY  INFRA- CHALLENGE: STRUCTURE Deliver a new railway infrastructure system (including both infrastructure and energy subsystems) with a breakthrough that will Energy Intelligent Efficiency Maintenance radically improve capacity and performance and reduce costs. 7
