Work Operations

Type of Work:

  • Installation of approximately a 3’ to 6’ wide by 1-1/2” deep pavement key in the

roadway along proposed curb and in additional areas where and as directed by the Engineer

  • Installation of Pedestrian Ramps with pigmented and unpigmented concrete

sidewalk, embedded preformed detectable warning units and steel faced concrete curb.

  • Installation of approximately a 3’ to 6’ wide by 1-1/2” deep wearing course in the

roadway adjacent to new curb, and in possible additional areas.

  • Possible relocation, modification and/or adjustments of existing drainage structures,

hydrants, fire alarm facilities, and street lighting and traffic signal facilities.

  • DDC is committed to maintaining a work site that is safe and clean.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained during construction.
  • Resident Engineer will monitor operations and work within Noise Code regulations.
  • Sidewalk and/or loading dock access from the curb may be temporarily restricted

while work is conducted (coordination will be arranged on a case by case basis)

  • Parking may be temporarily restricted during construction.

Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT)

  • A minimum of three (3) Interlocking pedestrian steel barricades shall be fastened together

for stabilization, as directed by the Engineer.

  • At heavy pedestrian traffic locations, a pedestrian walkway is to be provided.
  • A flag person will be present as needed
  • Traffic Safety Devices are to be installed prior to start of work and maintained until work is

completed.
