  3. THE LUNETA SIGHT GLASS

  4. FEATURES THE LUNETA SIGHT Etched Hex for Easy GLASS Cross Hair Wrench Installation Eye-Lets Stop using those old, dark, flat sight glasses. The Luneta Sight Glass provides a crystal-clear, 360-degree view of in-service oils. It is shatterproof, chemically resistant and made to withstand harsh environments, including extreme Flat Surface temperatures. You’ll never want to 360° Viewing for high-definition viewing use those hard-to-read sight glasses without obstruction again!

  5. BEFORE and AFTER OLD WAY NEW WAY THE LUNETA SIGHT GLASS Flat window sight glasses cast a shadow over the oil and make it difficult to see inside. 3D Sight Glasses like Luneta’s, proudly displays the oil, allowing light to enter and illuminate the lubricant, making condition monitoring easier and more effective. 6. Identifying OIL DEGRADATION OLD WAY NEW WAY THE LUNETA SIGHT Noticeably Difficult to Dark Color See Color GLASS Oil degradation means the oil has begun to break down due to a combination of time, heat, water and air. When the oil breaks down it loses its physical properties, in addition to producing varnish and corrosion on the inside of a machine. Oil degradation is most easily identified by a darkening of the oil’s color inside a sight glass. Flat Window Sight Glass Luneta Sight Glass

  7. THE CONDITION MONITORING POD

  8. FEATURES Oil Sampling THE CONDITION MONITORING Port POD Corrosion Indicator The Condition Monitoring Pod (CMP or POD for short) is a multi-parameter device that lets you observe the oil level, color, clarity, aeration, foaming, corrosion, varnish, wear debris and much more. You Etched Cross Hairs will quickly identify root causes and symptoms of failure that previously would have gone undetected. Magnet

  9. OIL SAMPLING OLD WAY NEW WAY THE CONDITION MONITORING POD The Condition Monitoring Pod features a built-in sampling valve for convenient sampling without having to shut down your machine or expose the oil to contaminants. Additionally, the sampling valve is attached to a stainless-steel pilot tube that can be bent to whatever angle is desired for proper live-zone sampling. TIP: Sampling is recommended when the conditions within the Pod’s sight glass have changed. This prevents costly and unnecessary lab tests.

  10. Identifying WEAR DEBRIS OLD WAY NEW WAY THE CONDITION MONITORING Wear POD Debris The Condition Monitoring Pod features a built-in magnet for capturing and displaying ferrous wear debris. This magnet is installed on the sight glass of the Pod for convenient observation while the machine is still Cannot See running. The sight glass can also be rotated Wear Debris Magnet so that the magnet can be lifted out of the oil for further analysis. Magnet TIP: Small amounts of wear debris are often present in oil and will collect on the magnet over time. Action should be taken when there is a sudden increase in wear debris, which signifies a serious event and impending failure. This is one of the many reasons why daily inspections of Luneta’s products are necessary.

  11. Identifying OIL DEGRADATION OLD WAY NEW WAY THE CONDITION MONITORING POD The Condition Monitoring Pod features a Copper Corrosion Indicator to detect the presence of acidic conditions due to oil degradation. If the Copper Corrosion Indicator shows corrosion in the form of discoloration on the surface, then your oil has begun to break down and you should expect other cupric elements in your machine to be at risk of corrosion. Cannot See Color or Dark Corrosion on TIP: If Corrosion is detected, pull an oil Color Corrosion sample from the Pod’s sampling valve and Indicator send it to a lab for further analysis.

  12. Identifying WATER CONTAMINATION OLD WAY NEW WAY THE CONDITION MONITORING POD The Condition Monitoring Pod features a Steel Corrosion Indicator to detect the presence of water. If the Steel Corrosion Indicator shows corrosion in the form of discoloration on the surface, then there is water in your system and your oil’s rust inhibitors have begun to fail. You should also expect other ferrous elements in your machine to be at risk of corrosion. Difficult to See. Is it white because of air Corrosion on TIP: If Corrosion is detected, pull an oil sample from the Pod’s sampling valve and or water? Indicator Cloudy send it to a lab for further analysis.

  13. THE HUB

  14. FEATURES THE Rotatable 4 Lateral HUB every 45 o Ports Shielded and The Hub is a multi-port adapter Robust that allows easy installation of oil Design level sight glasses, bottom sediment and water (BS&W) bowls, drain valves, quick connects for attaching filtration equipment, etc. In addition to four lateral ports, the Hub features a recessed oil sampling port. It is ideal for equipment with Sampling limited or inaccessible fluid port Valve locations.

  15. BEFORE and AFTER OLD WAY NEW WAY THE HUB The Hub elegantly turns one port into five - there are two 1” NPT lateral ports, two ¾” NPT lateral ports, and a central ¼” NPT port for the sampling valve. The Hub is adjustable every 45-degrees to ensure optimal orientation of the lateral ports.

  16. OIL SAMPLING OLD WAY NEW WAY THE HUB The Hub features a built-in sampling valve with an attached pilot tube for easy live-zone sampling. The valve is recessed into the Hub for protection from accidently impacts. The pilot tube is 12” and stainless steel. Both standard flow and high flow sampling valve options are available.

  17. THE COLUMN

  18. FEATURES 3-Micron THE Breather Option COLUMN Tamper-Proof Tamper-Proof Level Rings The Column is a crystal-clear oil level sight glass that allows you to visually inspect the condition Level Rings and level of oil in pumps, gearboxes, storage tanks and reservoirs. It features a one-piece design with 1-inch NPT threads at each end and includes either a 3-Micron Breather or a Vent- Durable to-Headspace option at the top. Two tamper- Vent-to- Crystal Clear One-Piece proof level rings mark the idle and running oil Headspace level. View of Oil Design Option

  19. BEFORE and AFTER OLD WAY NEW WAY THE COLUMN Most oil level sight glasses are difficult to see, they are marred with obstructions, they don’t have any good breathing options, and they do not provide reliable ways to mark the maximum and minimum oil levels. Luneta’s Columns solve all those problems with a crystal-clear sight glass that permits monitoring of the oil level from great distances, contamination free breathing options, and tamper proof level rings.

  20. THE BOWL

  21. FEATURES THE Hex with BOWL Eyelets 360° Viewing Magnet The Bowl is designed to capture and purge bottom sediment and water. A contoured base ensures no sediment is left behind, and a magnetic drain valve captures and displays any wear debris. Shielded Contoured Made of high impact Tritan ™, the Bowl also Drain Valve Base features a shielded drain valve, a single- piece design, a built-in Hex for easy installation and eye-lets for tagging critical information. Drain Valve

  22. Collect WEAR DEBRIS THE BOWL The Bowl includes a magnetic drain valve to capture and display any wear debris. TIP: Small amounts of wear debris are often present in oil and will collect on the magnet over time. Action should be taken when there is a sudden increase in wear debris, which signifies a serious event and impending failure. This is one of the many Wear Ferrous reasons why daily inspections of Luneta’s Debris Sludge products are necessary.

  23. Purge WATER & BOTTOM SEDIMENT WATER SEDIMENT PURGING THE BOWL The Bowl is designed to capture and purge bottom sediment and water. Gravity pulls the denser materials do the bottom and displays them for analysis. A drain valve provides the ability to purge the material, so it doesn’t get reintroduced into the system. A contoured base ensures no water or sediment is left behind upon purging. TIP: Daily inspection and purging of the Sediment Water Bowl is recommended.
