Components

 Ram  Extension tubes  Adapters

Safety

 Safety glasses  Use common sense at all times  Never let the ram slip off material while pressure is applied  Never exceed tool’s rated pressure capacity (4 or 10 ton)

USE ADAPTERS ACCORDINGLY FOR THE GIVEN SITUATION COMMON SENSE!!!

Inspect Before Use

 Check all threaded components for

 Dirt  Dust  Cuts in threads

 Make sure the shortest length tube is positioned farthest away from

ram when using multiple extension tubes

Furthest From Ram

SLIDE 6

Set-Up

 Measure the space applying Porto Power to and find out if you

need extension tubes

 Pick correct adapter according to the situation being used  Set pump on a level base  Position the adapter securely for the job it will be used for

Operation

 Slowly operate the pump handle so the ram is extended to meet

the load or so the claw has sufficient pressure applied

 Continue to activate the pump unless it is evident the setup is

becoming unstable

 Stop activating pump once sufficient pressure has been applied for

job being completed or once ram is fully extended (handle will become extremely tight)

Move Up And Down Until Tightens

 If setup becomes unstable, turn pump’s release valve

counterclockwise to remove ram pressure

 Adjust or change the setup accordingly

NOTE: All rams have return springs that return them to their retracted positions when the pump’s release valve is opened

Releasing Pressure

 Once job is complete turn the release valve counter clockwise two

full turns

 Air will quickly release from compression area  Once air pressure is released you can change or remove adapters

and components

Watch Out For…

 Make sure the ram is completely contracted before disconnecting

the hose from the ram

 Never try to remove adapters with pressure still applied (the pressure

will shoot the adapter out at you)

 Tool can’t exceed max force  Keep fingers away from adapter when pressure is applied

Maintenance

 A thin coat of general purpose grease must be applied to external

threads of all applicable components

 General purpose grease must be applied to pump’s extension

tubes, not pump piston

 Use only Chevron Hydraulic Oil AW ISO 32 or its equivalent Unocal

Unax AW 150

Oil Reservoir

Tool Storage

 Wipe down all components with a clean dry rag  Put each piece back in it’s designated spot on the cart  Store the cart in a clean dry area
