⬧ Senior Graduation Dinner—Wednesday May 22nd ⬧ Prom—Friday April 24th ⬧ Mandatory Graduation Practice—Monday, June 8th, 8am Poolesville ES for clap out wearing gowns Senior Picnic--Beallsville Fire Department ⬧ Tuesday, May 9th --Graduation—10am at Mount St. Mary’s, PNC Sports Complex
Wednesday, May 20th -- Senior Banquet 6:00-8:30pm (check in at 6:00pm) ⬧ Maggiano’s ⬧ Graduates Only ⬧ Payment $35 per person Monday, June 8th Senior Breakfast & Graduation Rehearsal beginning at 8am in Cafeteria—Funded by the Class of 2019 Clap out at Poolesville ES—after rehearsal and getting cap and gowns Senior Picnic, 12-3pm at Beallsville Fire Department Payment $10 per person
⬧ Rehearsal is MANDATORY ⬧ Seniors not participating in practice will not participate in the graduation ceremony. ⬧ Practice begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. with breakfast in the cafeteria. ⬧ Seniors will receive tickets and their cap & gown at the end of rehearsal. ⬧ Please safe guard the tickets as no one will be admitted to the graduation ceremony without a ticket.
⬧ Please make sure try on the cap and gown to make sure there are no problems. ⬧ If there is an issue please contact Susan Krouner, Monday, June 8th no later than 3 p.m. at 240-740-2415.
⬧ All guests must have a ticket. ⬧ All guests must sit in a seat. No children are allowed to sit on the lap of a guest. ⬧ All handicapped/special seating must be reserved in advance. ⬧ No balloons, signs or noise makers allowed. ⬧ Flowers must be wrapped so no leaves or petals fall from the bouquet.
⬧ Frederick County Sheriff’s Department will be assisting with parking and traffic control at the University. ⬧ No parking passes are needed. ⬧ Drop off for guests needing special assistance will be available.
⬧ Seniors should arrive at the University no later than 8:45 a.m. ⬧ Seniors should report to the field house across from Knott Arena on the concourse level. ⬧ Seniors should bring their cap and gown on a disposable hanger & clips for cap if needed. ⬧ No personal items are allowed (brush, purse, phone, etc) ⬧ There are no facilities for dressing, fixing hair, makeup, etc.
⬧ Attire: ⬧ Caps and Gowns (distributed after graduation rehearsal) should be wrinkle free. No sunglasses. No chewing gum. No signs or decorations. ⬧ Academic attire, as noted in the Commencement 2020 Guidelines, includes the following:
⬧ Long dress pants with white collared shirt ⬧ Dress, skirt and blouse ⬧ Dress shoes ⬧ Graduates attire should not detract from the cap and gown, ceremony, or celebration.
⬧ No Jeans ⬧ No tennis shoes ⬧ No flip-flops ⬧ No personal items ⬧ No balloons, signs, or noise makers
⬧ Graduates will receive their diplomas immediately following the ceremony in the field house across from the Knott Arena and will exit outside from that area.
Guests may meet their graduate
graduation.
Where is the Graduation Ceremony?
⬧ The ceremony will be held at Mount St. Mary’s University—PNC Complex, in the Knott Athletic Recreation Convocation Complex . ⬧ The address is 16300 Old Emmitsburg Rd, Emmitsburg, Maryland 21727
When is the Graduation Ceremony?
⬧ The ceremony will be held Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. ⬧ Graduates must arrive by 8:45 a.m. dressed in cap and gown. ⬧ Graduates should not bring any personal items as there will not be a safe place to store them during the ceremony.
⬧ Guests will be able to enter Knott Arena starting at 9:20 a.m. ⬧ Anyone arriving after 9:55 a.m. will not be seated until after the procession of the graduates.
What is the sequence of events for the ceremony?
⬧ Graduates arrive by 8:45 a.m. ⬧ Guests begin arriving by 9:00 a.m. ⬧ Seating will begin at 9:20 a.m. ⬧ Graduation begins at 10 a.m. sharp
Are there restrictions on small children attending?
⬧ YES, even small children must have a ticket. No child may sit in the lap of another person. ⬧ Staff will be collecting tickets as you enter the hall. Only guests with tickets will be allowed to enter.
What can be brought to Knott Arena by attending guests?
⬧ Mount St. Mary’s has requested that parents do not bring balloons, signs, whistles to be used during the ceremony. ⬧ Flowers are welcome as long as they are wrapped so petals do not fall out.
How do I get extra tickets to the graduation ceremony?
⬧ Additional tickets should be requested on the ticket request form in the packet. (The packet can be downloaded from the PHS Website). ⬧ Additional tickets are not guaranteed but will be distributed as they become available.
What provisions are there for people with disabilities?
⬧ Special drop off and designated seating make Mount
⬧ If you have a guest requiring wheelchair seating, please complete the special accommodations form in the packet. ⬧ If you require a sign interpreter, please complete the request form in the packet. ⬧ We will contact each family with these requests to get the details of what is needed.

All Guests will enter here, back entrance
All guests must have a ticket to enter the ARCC. Tickets will be taken at these doors before entering.
All guests will go to the right or left
enter into the Knott Arena on Right hand side. Guests will not be allowed to go up the stairs.
