Personalized Learning

Instructionally, personalized learning prompts a shift from whole-group,

  • ne-size-fits-all, teacher-directed

instruction to a student-centered approach that balances group instruction and individualized learning.

Choice

Choice includes giving options to students based on their needs, interests and abilities. It also includes giving students some level of control

  • ver the pace, path, and product of

their learning

Pace Related to the timing of content, students move at a pace that is appropriate for their readiness levels and needs. Path Students will master the same standards, but have structured choices about the order of the content. Mode Students learn and demonstrate mastery in a way that is optimized for their learning. Data Teachers use both online and

  • ffline tools to gather data on

student learning, which allows them to adjust instruction to better personalize learning.
