Overview

There will be 14 specialised Diplomas, at levels 1,2 and 3, covering the occupational sectors of the economy. The design is employer-led, but will not be a direct preparation for an occupation. Young people will develop the broader skills and subject knowledge that employers want. The first five Diplomas will be available in 2008, the next five in 2009 and the final four in 2010. Following a 3 year programme of evaluation, national entitlement will be introduced in 2013.
