The new Europe 2020 strategy

targets: Reaffirmation of 20-20-20 target agreed in 2007:

– reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 20% compared to 1990 levels – increasing the share of renewables in final energy consumption to 20% – and moving towards a 20% increase in energy efficiency

Economic Recovery Programme

  • Commission adopted on 31 May 2010 an amendment to the

Economic Recovery Regulation (EC) No 663/2009, now in co- decision with aim to endorse by July

  • 114 million € to be transferred to RES/EE
  • Beneficiaries will most likely be municipalities and regional/local

  • Beneficiaries will most likely be municipalities and regional/local

authorities

  • Facility shall be implemented by one or several IFI
  • Eligible are: public and private buildings, CHP and district

heating/cooling networks, decentralised RES embedded in local settings, clean urban transport, smart grids, efficient street lighting, and smart metering.
