Attendance

Student presence or absence must be logged in PowerSchool on a daily basis. While in face-to-face instruction, “present” is indicated by a default attendance code (Present On-Site), in remote learning teachers must actively log the student as present using the code “1R” (Present Off-Site).

  • If a student is absent, but reports a short or long-term hardship AND submits classwork

within 1 day of the assignment date, the student should be marked present. (Example in Guidelines document)

  • Teachers may correct attendance for up to three days. Beyond three days, an administrative

PowerSchool user must make any needed changes.

  • Make-up work for absent students must be accepted and graded according to the CMS

grading plan guidelines.

  • The teacher must notify the principal and counselor of students with long-term hardship

cases to work out a plan for the student/family.
