Background:

1. District membership maintenance is needed due to recent school changes and to ensure all schools with athletic programs are included. 2. The Dearborn, E.M. Kennedy and alternative schools serve high needs populations, and these memberships will therefore help close opportunity gaps in athletics. 3. Addresses access to athletics and MIAA governance/compliance for Alternative Schools

Application Process:

REQUIREMENTS FOR QUALIFYING FOR INSTITUTIONAL MEMBERSHIP

• 1. A letter of application
• 2. A district application fee
• 3. A statement that participating schools will

adhere to the rules and regulations of MIAA

• 4. An enrollment report
• 5. A copy of the vote taken by the School

Committee authorizing the MIAA to manage interscholastic athletics for the schools.

• 6. A copy of the brochure describing the

programs of study of the schools.
