  5. Who are the Membership Council ? 12 members representing the following regions 1. South West 8. Northern/Southern Ireland 2. South East 9. North 3. London Metropolitan 10. Yorkshire 4. East 11. Overseas 5. East Midlands 12. National Branches 6. West Midlands 7. Wales Elected on a three year cycle 5

  8. What Do You Do?  Attend Membership Council meetings every six weeks to primarily to:  Provide the Board of Trustees with a dedicated Focus on The Royal British Legion Membership Organisation in particular the needs of members and the support they give to the Legions charitable work. 8

  9. What does that mean? 1. To develop a strategic framework for the Legion Membership organisation 2. To take responsibility for the General Fund Budget and make recommendations on income and expenditure 3. To make recommendations for the improvement of the Membership administration 9

  10. And there is more! 4. To take responsibility for the management of Counties and Districts. Who are in turn responsible for the management and administration of branches. 5. To take direct responsibility for those branches not belonging to a County or District 6. To monitor all Membership services to ensure they meet the expectations and needs of members 10

  11. More 7. To provide policy input on Membership matters and reports as requested by the Board of Trustees or individual Directors 8. To approve the formation, amalgamation and closure of Counties, Districts Branches and Sub Branches 9. To approve the issue and withdrawal of Legion Club Licences 11
