The Marine Science Centre (MSC) is one of the
research centers of Basrah University. It was established in 1981 in Basrah city southern of Iraq. It provides scientific research’s and consultations to the ministry and private sectors.

Objectives
The Marine Science Centre(MSC) aims at study and research all different aspects of Marine Science in the Arabian Gulf, Gulf of Oman, the Arabian Sea, the Red Sea and the Inland waters that are influenced by the tidal phenomenon including (Physical, chemical, Geological, Biological and Atmospherically parameter). MSC study and research fishes and other natural resources and their development , protection and exploitation to achieve best uses of marine resources and to develop marine strategic studies for its public importance and public good.
