 The Marine Science Centre (MSC) is one of the research centers of Basrah University. It was established in 1981 in Basrah city southern of Iraq. It provides scientific research’s and consultations to the ministry and private sectors.

Vision Vision The Marine Science Centre (MSC) has the aim and vision of being a distinctive and outstanding among the Iraqi, the Arab and the International research centers, the colleges and universities in the scientific and academic fields, and in the services it provides to the society and others sectors. MSC applying the international quality assurance in the ISO 9001 standards, and the quality assurance guidelines of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research-Iraq.

Objectives Objectives The Marine Science Centre(MSC) aims at study and research all different aspects of Marine Science in the Arabian Gulf, Gulf of Oman, the Arabian Sea, the Red Sea and the Inland waters that are influenced by the tidal phenomenon including (Physical, chemical, Geological, Biological and Atmospherically parameter). MSC study and research fishes and other natural resources and their development , protection and exploitation to achieve best uses of marine resources and to develop marine strategic studies for its public importance and public good.
