Staffing & Support Contract Contract Tasks: • Hold executive board and membership meetings as needed • Continue to communicate with potential members, be available to attend/speak at board meetings to aid in bringing on new members • Maintain LDWG website to aid in keeping membership up-to-date on LDWG activities and provide outreach materials useful for MS4 compliance • Coordinate chloride reduction activities with other watershed groups in Will County (MS4 compliance) • Work with members, IEPA and others to coordinate the development of a framework, goals and schedule for a Nutrient Implementation Plan

  12. Next Steps • Illinois EPA will submit final petition to Illinois Pollution Control Board on April 5 • 30 Public Comment period • Public hearings • Send to USEPA Region 5 for approval • Clock starts ticking for tasks

Submittal BMP Highlights • Salt must be stored on covered, impermeable pad • All equipment must be calibrated at least annually • All salt will be pre-wetted • Purchase pavement temperature sensors for portion of fleet • Develop/implement protocol to vary salt application based on pavement temperature and weather conditions • Track salt usage for each storm • Plan to implement anti-icing program with milestones • Annual training for staff and contractors • Method developed to determine whether each truck applied salt at recommended rate

Nutrient Assessment and Reduction Plan NARP Requirements: • Due December 31, 2023 • In cooperation will all dischargers in the watershed • Determine target levels to address phosphorus related impairments • Identify phosphorus inputs and needed reductions from point and non-point sources • Implementation schedule • Can include nutrient trading options • Action items will be included in future permits (NPDES & MS4)

  16. Nutrient Assessment and Reduction Plan Next Steps: • Setup first NARP committee meeting • Review all phosphorus related dissolved oxygen and offensive condition impairments • Discuss potential modeling • Identify additional data needs • Work with other watershed groups in region
