LESER API 526 Series Valves are entirely designed analog to API 526. API 526 has standardized the following Items:

Painting Requirements

  • Special painting with test are available with LESER.
  • 1. Holiday test: The Holiday test is a procedure using low or high

voltage devices for testing the porosity of coatings. This test shall guarantee that the coating systems do not contain any discontinuity. The discontinuity is a disruption in a normal structure or coating such as: cracks, overlaps, laps, welds, seams, inclusions.

  • 2. Dry film thickness (DFT): Thickness of a film which remains on the

surface after hardening/drying.

  • 3. Pull-off test: The adhesion test by pull-off test (EN ISO 4624) is a

procedure to determine the adhesion of a single film or a multi- layered system of coating materials by means of measuring (quantitative) of the minimum tensile strength which is required to separate or pull off the coating vertically from the substrate.
