contract coordinator for 17 jurisdic7ons, including

companies and the neighborhoods in which they film.

FilmL.A. is a private, nonprofit organiza7on that coordinates and processes permits for

$200,000 per year in revenue for LAUSD.

  • Last fiscal year, there were 347 “film friendly” schools earning

revenues over $1.9 million.

How it Works

Film Company selects school site FilmL.A. coordinates with school and Leasing & Space Utilization License issued & fees collected by FilmL.A. Filming or Parking event takes place School reports any post-filming issues to FilmLA FilmL.A. finalizes account and remits filming revenue to LAUSD in 30–45 days LAUSD (Budget) transfers funds to schools within 10-15 days

Filming Revenue Distribu7on

  • Filming revenue is categorized as:

– Filming & Parking Revenue – Custodial and Miscellaneous Fees

  • The revenue is distributed as follows:

– Filming & Parking

  • 16% to FilmLA
  • Balance to the District as follows:
