Project History

  • 2014 – MnDOT decides to rehabilitate the existing bridge given its

historic status.

  • 2015 – Based on public input, MnDOT delays rehabilitation project and

forms Milan Task Force.

  • 2015/2016 – Milan Task Force makes bridge replacement

recommendation to MnDOT. Based on that input, and other public input, MnDOT decides to pursue bridge replacement rather than rehabilitation.

  • 2017 – MnDOT begins bridge replacement preliminary design.
