Membership Trends 2015

2014 2015

  • Total membership for 2015 was 6,007 (-109 from 2014), but WC effect is overstating decline
  • Small declines in North America, Europe, Russia, South America, Australia. TGW was unchanged.
  • Dzamling Gar & Asia grew substantially.
  • As 2015 was the transition year from Gar databases to the IDC global database (MMS), it is probably not useful to draw
  • conclusions. In 2016, we hope many more people interested in the Teachings will choose to become Rinpoche’s student.

Communications: Key Issues

  • Findability of websites
  • Understanding members’ use of social media, e-mail networks/groups and websites
  • Direct messaging: Importance of keeping Gakyil personal e-mail addresses updated in MMS
  • Mass e-mail system: depends on members keeping personal profiles up to date
  • Multilingual messages/communication: depends on availability of translators
  • Personal Interaction: the Dzamling Gar factor
  • Networking among specialist skill group members for coordinated solutions
