AFLCMC LogIT Roadmap

5 Phase 1: Analysis, Reengineering, and Determination Phase 2: Execute / Implement Enterprise Solutions Phase 3 IT Systems Management into the Future

Continue to lower costs via cloud hosting opportunities Work with stakeholders to cluster legacy LogIT systems by capabilities supported Select “Best of Breed” systems within clusters to support consolidations, creating enterprise solutions Perform gap analysis between all required capabilities within a cluster and those offered by the “Best of Breed” systems to determine modernization requirements Final stakeholder decisions on clusters and establishment of metrics Continue working with stakeholders and incorporate

  • rganizational change management

Address changes to contracts, policy, technical architecture, training, etc. Address data migration and project management Develop implementation plans and schedules Central portfolio management with assistance provided by Functionals and Program Offices (POs) Duties will include: managing licenses, evaluating PO requirements, pushing use common IT systems, developing Enterprise Architecture for future use/reuse, and recording what did/didn’t work for learning purposes

End State: Benefits

Proactive Center LogIT governance that supports both Program Offices and the Enterprise by balancing mission and sustainment costs Agile deployment of required capabilities by leveraging re- use and innovative hosting solutions Integrated logistics data supported by enterprise solutions across functional areas (capability clusters) and cloud hosting Lower LogIT sustainment costs at every level of the enterprise

Center LogIT Concerns

6

  • Funding

– Substantial funding is required for transformative change

  • System modernizations and consolidations
  • Application / data migrations to cloud environments
  • Modification of Program Office contracts
  • Resources

– LogIT consolidation and re-hosting cannot be a “part-time” initiative

  • Full-time resources are required to execute current portfolio objectives with agility
  • Full-time resources are required for future LogIT portfolio governance
  • Change Management

– The consolidation and re-hosting initiative will substantially impact center workload

  • Updates to logistics policy, procedures, and training need to be closely attended and

frequently communicated

  • Changes to LogIT system support contracts need to be carefully considered
  • Impacts to center mission need to be continuously monitored, controlled, and mitigated
  • LogIT governance restructuring is required to proactively manage the future portfolio
