  1. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center AFLCMC… Providing the Warfighter’s Edge AFLCMC Logistics Information Technology (LogIT) Update Trixie Brewer 6 June 17

  2. Briefing Overview AFLCMC… Providing the Warfighter’s Edge • AFLCMC center-wide LogIT Roles • AFLCMC LOG IT Activities • AFLCMC LogIT Roadmap • Concerns 2

  3. AFLCMC Roles in LogIT AFLCMC… Providing the Warfighter’s Edge • AFLCMC/OZIP: Center LogIT Portfolio Management – AFLCMC POC for all AFLCMC IT requirements and management – Monitor portfolio for efficiency and effectiveness – Facilitate portfolio objectives-provide requirements to appropriate orgs to execute • AFLCMC/LG & EZ: Logistics & Engineering Community Support – Inform, train, and assist program offices on/with LogIT requirements, activities, processes and priorities • AFLCMC/HI: Business Enterprise Systems program management support – Execute LogIT functional requirements while driving efficiency and effectiveness • AFLCMC/HN: Infrastructure and Network Support – Provide hosting solutions to ensure cyber security, lower sustainment costs, and integrated logistics information • AFLCMC Program Offices: Weapon System Support – Seek LogIT solutions to drive weapon system product support efficiencies 3

  4. AFLCMC LogIT Activities AFLCMC… Providing the Warfighter’s Edge • Portfolio-wide Consolidation and Re-hosting – Lower sustainment costs – Reduce portfolio risks and vulnerabilities – Improve data integration – Promote enterprise solutions • Sustainable Portfolio Management Process Development – Create processes to reduce future uncontrolled proliferation of systems – Communicate available LogIT capabilities for re-use – Improve portfolio visibility – Promote enterprise portfolio governance Consolidate - Re-host - Communicate 4

  5. AFLCMC LogIT Roadmap AFLCMC… Providing the Warfighter’s Edge Phase 1: Analysis, Reengineering, and Determination Phase 2: Execute / Implement Enterprise Solutions Continue to lower costs via cloud hosting opportunities Continue working with stakeholders and incorporate Work with stakeholders to cluster legacy LogIT systems by organizational change management capabilities supported Address changes to contracts, policy, technical architecture, Select “ Best of Breed” systems within clusters to support training, etc. consolidations, creating enterprise solutions Address data migration and project management Perform gap analysis between all required capabilities within a cluster and those offered by the “Best of Breed” systems Develop implementation plans and schedules to determine modernization requirements Final stakeholder decisions on clusters and establishment of metrics End State: Benefits Phase 3 IT Systems Management into the Future Proactive Center LogIT governance that supports both Central portfolio management with assistance provided by Program Offices and the Enterprise by balancing mission Functionals and Program Offices (POs) and sustainment costs Duties will include: managing licenses, evaluating PO Agile deployment of required capabilities by leveraging re- requirements, pushing use common IT systems, developing use and innovative hosting solutions Enterprise Architecture for future use/reuse, and recording what did/didn’t work for learning purposes Integrated logistics data supported by enterprise solutions across functional areas (capability clusters) and cloud hosting Lower LogIT sustainment costs at every level of the enterprise 5

  6. Center LogIT Concerns AFLCMC… Providing the Warfighter’s Edge • Funding – Substantial funding is required for transformative change • System modernizations and consolidations • Application / data migrations to cloud environments • Modification of Program Office contracts • Resources – LogIT consolidation and re- hosting cannot be a “part - time” initiative • Full-time resources are required to execute current portfolio objectives with agility • Full-time resources are required for future LogIT portfolio governance • Change Management – The consolidation and re-hosting initiative will substantially impact center workload • Updates to logistics policy, procedures, and training need to be closely attended and frequently communicated • Changes to LogIT system support contracts need to be carefully considered • Impacts to center mission need to be continuously monitored, controlled, and mitigated • LogIT governance restructuring is required to proactively manage the future portfolio 6
