  3. Finding Useful Questions • We have been dealing with accessibility and inclusion on an academic level for a while. • How to make these topics approachable? • Our project that aims to bridge the gap between academia and everyday organizational practice. • We want to provide a starting point for those interested in reaching more people with whatever they do.

  4. Accessibility: Access is about physical needs. An accessible space or situation means the particularities of someone’s body (and mind) will be accommodated. Inclusion: Being inclusive here means dealing responsibly and respectfully with all structural disadvantages a person or community might experience. Diversity: Ideally a state where people of many di f erent backgrounds can exist as equals.

  5. Tech Support for Social Issues • Accessibility is a social issue , but often de fj ned in technical terms. • Thinking diversity, inclusion, and accessibility together. • Communication is creating response-ability Goal: Reach (a broad range of) people.

  7. Set Up – Questions • Have you ever considered asking your audience /customers/clients what they would like to get from you? • Who can I contact with food related questions? • What are your resources and your limita- tions? (time, space, fj nancial resources)

  8. Play – Questions • Who can I ask about this when I get there ? • There is a lot of food here, how do I know what’s vegetarian? • Who do I need to talk to in order to get what I need (e.g. gluten free food or straws)?

  9. Rewind • How to get feedback? • Use the feedback you’re given productively and respectfully. Appreciate external input! • Use what you’ve learned to improve things going forward.
