  6. What is an ‘endorsement’? Students choose to take a specific group of courses which will allow them to gain greater knowledge about certain careers or academic areas of interest. Students must choose ONE endorsement, but may have several endorsements.

Foundation Plan Requirements English Language Four (4) credits • Arts English I • English II • English III • Advanced English Course Mathematics Three (3) credits • Algebra I • Geometry • Advanced Mathematics Course Science Three (3) credits • Biology • IPC or Advanced Science Course (Chem or Physics) • Advanced Science Course Social Studies Three (3) Credits World Geography or World History • U.S. History • U.S. Government (one-half credit) • Economics (one-half credit)

  16. Distinguished Achievement To be considered in the “Top 10% of the Class for automatic admission”, students must have: • Algebra II success • A total of four credits in science • The remaining curriculum requirements • Graduate with at least one Endorsement

  17. Performance Acknowledgments How students may earn a Performance Acknowledgment on their transcript: • Outstanding Performance(s) in: – Dual Credit – Bilingualism and Biliteracy – Advanced Placement Exams – PSAT, ACT, or SAT – Business or Industry Certificate or License

  18. Students Entering 9 th Grade • Each student selects (in writing) an endorsement. • The student and their parents are advised of the benefits of graduating on the Foundation Plan with Endorsements. • Endorsements can be changed at any time. • Students who graduate on the Foundation Plan are eligible to be accepted to a 4-year university in Texas.
