Charleston Transitional Facility

  • Project Justification

– Super Medium Duty

  • Top priority because it will allow CTF to continue to provide transportation in the most efficient
  • manner. The current vehicle has had numerous repairs as of December 8, 2010 the vehicle

had been in the shop for a month, due to the lack of parts. No other provider has the capacity

  • r trained staff to provide this service. If a super medium duty is not provided this will increase

the number of smaller vehicles used & increase transportation cost.

– Overall

  • Services offered by CTF depend upon transportation availability, so these vehicles need to be

replaced continue providing these individuals with services. Vehicles identified for replace are

  • ld & have high mileage causing them to spend significant periods of time out of service.
  • Current Services & Experience

  • Formal Coordination Efforts

Student, H&H Shuttle Service, Graywood Foundation, LifeLinks

– Coordination Activities

  • In 2009 staff spoke with Dial-A-Ride regarding transportation to/from day programs. Service

proposed was not cost efficient & would have made very little impact on CTF transportation needs.

  • March 2009, H & H Transportation submitted a proposal to provide transportation for some
  • routes. CTF CFO’s cost analysis determined this was cost prohibitive.
