SLIDE 10

Oar labels changing!!!

  • What do the new numbers mean?
  • Oar Length / Inboard Length
  • Example: 286 / 86
  • "Average" rower setting is 286 / 86
  • A stronger rower will benefit from:
  • Longer oar
  • Shorter inboard
  • Too much effort? Try:
  • Shorter oar, or
  • Longer inboard
  • The oar is 286 cm long
  • From handle tip to collar

is 86 cm

slide-11
SLIDE 11

Scull Settings: Will be labeled…

  • 285/86
  • 286/86

  • 290+ (fixed length, to be updated)
slide-12

Sweep:

  • Recommended setting for coed masters 373/115
  • Use clams to "change the length"
  • Add 1 set of clams for a 4+
  • Add 2 sets of clams for a 2-

 Not all GCRA sets are adjustable so best rowed with clams to "shorten" the oar, even if rowing an 8+
