  2. OVERVIEW • According to the Ghana 2010 population census, 42.5% of Ghanaians depended directly on agriculture as their major source of livelihood. Ghana’s GDP positively shows agriculture is a major contributor positing 35% of Ghana’s Gross Domestic product however we have a high importation debt of $5 billion annually through the importation over $600 million worth of rice, over $400 million worth of maize and over $300 million worth vegetables annually, with majority of them being low and inferior quality resulting in malnutrition. Health issues emanating from chronic malnutrition is an underlying cause of one third of all child deaths. According to World Food Programme study in 2009, about 40% of rural people in Upper West, Upper East and Northern regions were vulnerable to becoming food insecure whereas up to 1.5 million people living in rural and urban of the remaining seven regions were vulnerable to food insecurity • We believe Ghana’s future is dependent on a Ghanaian child with the best of nutrition to grow up healthy, intelligent and productive.

  3. WHO WE ARE • Green Gold Farms (registered as Green Gold Agricultural Company Limited), aim to leverage on Ghana’s geographically central location which places us in a good place to serve as food basket to the West African sub- region, to provide an integrated approach to sustainable natural resource management, through a heavily mechanized agricultural system that employs a farm nucleus of 1,000,000 hectares and eventual out grower system that will reach out to approximately 2,000,000 hectares in the next five to 10 years providing jobs, food security, education and training programmes for farmers and their families, improved healthcare, reduce drastically malnutrition, curb migration, and optimize environmental sustainability. • We believe Africa can feed itself and its people can be empowered to lift themselves out of poverty. Our flagship project will serve as a blueprint for other nations in Africa to emulate. Green Gold Farms sees an opportunity to bring a paradigm shift from subsistence agriculture to business orientated integrated commercial agriculture through mechanized farming. • We want to make our claim on the food production map and become the preferred supplier in West Africa and the international markets, employing an efficient marketing team to source for contracts from big brands such as Tescos, Asda, Sainsbury, Waitrosse, Costco, Unilever, Diageo and Nestle.

  4. OUR MISSION The eradication of poverty is one of the largest global challenges. At Green Gold Farms Ghana, our mission is to lift 20,000 Ghanaians out of poverty in remote areas and enhance sustainability. Our efforts currently focus on: • Provide agricultural jobs for the locals to engage in as opposed to illegal mining to provide safe drinking water and enhance environmental sustainability. • Adopting modern technological practices in areas like irrigation, hydroponics, disease and pest control, etc to maximize food production making Ghana “the food basket of the Africa”, reducing drastically importation of food and tackling malnutrition. • Providing educational infrastructure for adult literacy and exchange training programmes for farmers. • Provide health facilities for farmers and their families. • Curbing migration by creating an avenue where emigrants will be brought back, resettle and integrated in the community to help in building a prosperous Ghana. • Providing financial inclusion for women and access to capital where they will be trained in entrepreneurial skills and financial management.

  6. THE OPPORTUNITY • Green Gold has identified a for-profit opportunity to turn around the fortunes of Investors interested in investing in Africa’s most peaceful parcel of the 60% world’s uncultivated lands located in Africa. This comes in the wake of the government of Ghana moving in step to combat deficits resulting from rising import bills through its recent initiative of planting for foods and jobs. The implication of this move by government is that policies going forward are going to be engineered to encourage import substitution by encouraging heavy investments in Agriculture.

  7. PROJECT SUMMAR ARY & Y & 0BJECTIVE VES Green Gold is going to be the largest vertically integrated and value adding agricultural business in Ghana. Green Gold Farms, processing and packing facilities will be located in the Northern part of Ghana which has long been touted as the food basket of Ghana, though that potential is yet to be realized. The project objectives are as follows: 1.To put 1,000, 000 hectares of farmland into cultivation over a 10-year period. 2.To develop an effective out grower system that will double total land under cultivation to 2.0MM hectares. 3. Reduce Ghana’s food import bill by 60% over the next ten years. 4.To provide decent agricultural employment for the people in the farming belt of Ghana to stem rural-urban migration. 5.To add value to agricultural products for exports.
