West Gate Tunnel Neighbourhood funds

  • The inaugural round of the West Gate

Neighbourhood Fund – Partnerships closed on 26 February 2020.

  • A great response was received to the round with

a balance of applications from across both the Hobsons Bay and Maribyrnong Local Government Areas.

  • Applications are currently being assessed, with

input to be sought from CLG members in April.

  • Timing is being considered for the launch of the

West Gate Neighbourhood Fund – Grants.

Brooklyn Open House

  • On Wednesday 11 March, we spoke to 20 Brooklyn residents and businesses at an

‘Open House’ information session.

  • All three parties (WGTP MTIA, Transurban, JV) were present to answer any

questions the local public had.

  • WGTP also held a separate stand representing the West Gate Neighbourhood Fund,

with many locals interested in how the funds will be distributed. Soil Management

  • The project parties are working with the EPA to find a solution to manage the rock and

soil that will be created during tunnelling.

  • Factsheets have been published and sent to CLG members and are available on the

project website.

  • The EPA has published a PFAS factsheet and videos on their website
